13th Conference on Fast Field Cycling NMR Relaxometry – Palermo, 2024
The 13th Conference on Fast Field Cycling (FFC) NMR Relaxometry was held at the University of Palermo, Italy, continuing a tradition that began with the first meeting in Berlin in 1998. Over the years, this series has become a key forum for scientists from diverse disciplines – including physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, and engineering – to exchange ideas and explore advances in FFC and low-field NMR relaxometry.
The 2024 edition maintained this multidisciplinary spirit, featuring oral and poster presentations on theory, instrumentation, and applications in systems such as porous and heterogeneous materials, polymers, biological tissues, contrast agents, solids, ionic liquids, and pharmaceuticals.
This year introduced tutorial sessions and, for the first time, panel discussions, which encouraged lively exchanges and provided fresh perspectives on future challenges and opportunities for the technique.
A highlight of the event was the celebration of Stelar’s 40th anniversary, marking four decades of innovation and leadership in the development and application of FFC technology. This milestone offered the opportunity to reflect on past achievements while looking ahead to new breakthroughs in the field.
The conference once again confirmed its role as a vibrant platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge sharing within the growing FFC NMR community.
